How do I test every key on my keyboard?
Click the keyboard picture on the keyboard tester and press each key. Keys glow while held and stay dark green once tested. Choose UK or US layout to match your keyboard.
Step by step
- Open the keyboard tester and click the keyboard picture (or Tab to it).
- Press each key in turn and watch it light up.
- Choose UK layout or US layout.
- Hold several keys together to see Held right now and Most held at once (rollover).
- Press Esc twice quickly to give control back to the page. Reset starts again.
Questions and fixes
A key doesn’t light up
It isn’t sending anything. Clean it (crumbs and dust are the usual cause), try another USB port or new batteries, and test again.
A key lights up but types the wrong character
Your computer’s keyboard layout setting doesn’t match the keyboard. Check the language and layout in your system settings.
